Summary The story of a traveller named Marco Polo who journeyed to distant lands of the east, which were ruled by the Emperor Kublai Khan. Marco became the Emperor's most trusted friend. When Marco decided to return to his homeland, Kublai Khan broke the precious Medallion of State into two pieces keeping one half and giving the other to his friend. It was prophesied that seven times seven generations would pass before the medallions would be rejoined as one and that the rejoining would be a symbol of friendship that would destroy evil and bring peace to the land of Xanandu
