George Korper was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia in 1925. After the Germans annexed the Sudetenland, George was sent on a Winton transport to live in England. There he stayed with a family for six weeks before going to live at a hostel for Jewish refugees. After the war, George remained in England to attend college and to get married.
