Summary Pepa is a successful actress, doing voice-dubbing and detergent commercials. She lives in a beautiful apartment in the heart of Madrid, with her lover and fellow actor Ivan. He has deserted her without warning, and may have gone back to his wife Lucia, who has been in a mental institution for twenty years. Pepa's best friend, Candela has an equally serious problem: her boyfriend has been arrested as a terrorist, and she needs to hide from the police. Ivan's son and pushy fiancée arrive, possible tenants for Pepa's apartment. As Pepa's apartment fills up, hearts are broken, stockings torn, suicide attempts botched, and windows smashed--the chaos of the day ends with soporifically terrific gazpacho for all
